EFFECTS OF PAIRING IN THE 20Ne NUCLEUS

Publication: Canadian Journal of Physics
March 1967

Abstract

An investigation is made into the effects of a perturbing pairing force on the structure of the 20Ne nucleus described primarily by a quadrupole–quadrupole force (SU3 model). It is shown that such a perturbation cannot explain simultaneously the observed deviations from the SU3 predictions of energy and the B(E2) systematics in the "ground-state band".
