Coulomb nuclear interference in π12C and π±16O elastic scatterings around the P33 resonance

Abstract

π12C and π±16O elastic scattering cross sections are calculated around the P33 resonance and results are compared with experimental data in the small scattering angle region. Novel features of the present calculations are the inclusion of the Coulomb interaction by a momentum space method which is based on the recently proposed coupled integral equations formalism, and the use of the more elaborate nuclear scattering matrix element which is calculated from the multiple scattering theory.

Les sections efficaces de diffusion π12C et π±16O sont calculées autour de la résonance P33, et les résultats sont comparés avec les données expérimentales dans la région des faibles angles de diffusion. Les calculs effectués ont comme caractéristiques nouvelles l'inclusion de l'interaction de Coulomb par une méthode d'espace d'impulsion basée sur un formalisme d'équations intégrales couplées récemment proposé, ainsi que l'utilisation d'un élément de matrice de diffusion nucléaire plus élaboré, calculé d'après la théorie de diffusion multiple.[Traduit par le journal]
