Free Access
Compliance
Authors can comply with most funder requirements by making the accepted version of their manuscript available in a compliant open access repository. CSP does not impose an embargo on posting the accepted version of the article and authors publishing in CSP journals retain copyright of their work. To comply with the requirements of certain funders (e.g., Plan S, UKRI, etc.), a CC BY license can be added to the accepted version of a manuscript upon request by contacting Customer Service. Please note that it is the authors’ responsibility to verify the requirements for compliance with their individual funders.
Embargo
This option enables authors to comply with the requirement of most major funders.
Free access is available after a 12-month embargo for articles published in: Canadian Journal of Animal Science, Canadian Journal of Plant Science, and Canadian Journal of Soil Science.
Pre-prints and Post-prints
This option enables authors to comply with the requirement of most major funders. Pre-print refers to the version of a manuscript that has not yet been accepted for publication. Post-print refers to the version of a manuscript that has been accepted for publication but has not yet undergone final copyediting and typesetting by the publisher.
Authors can make their articles freely accessible by posting pre-prints and post-prints on repositories of their choice (i.e., on their own website, an institutional repository, a preprint server, or their funding body's designated archive).
Canadian Science Publishing does not consider work posted to a pre-print server to constitute “prior publication.”We can automatically deposit the accepted version/post-print in our partner repository TSpace at no cost.
